Teachers of Tomorrow Recruitment Incentive 

The Teachers of Tomorrow (TOT) Recruitment Incentive Program awards eligible new teachers a one-time $3,400 award for one year of service at a TOT-eligible school, encouraging talented educators to teach where they are most needed. Loan Forgiveness Programs 

There are also exciting loan forgiveness programs you could be eligible for as a NYCPS teacher: 

NY State Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program 

Teachers in high-need districts or subject areas in New York State may apply for loan forgiveness. To qualify, you must: 

  • Be certified as a teacher in NYS 
  • Be employed full-time in an elementary or secondary school in NYS 
  • Teach a subject-shortage area or in a hard-to-staff district 
  • Be a NYS resident for 12 continuous months prior to application 
  • Have an outstanding balance on an eligible student loan debt 

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program  

The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans: 

  • After you’ve made the equivalent of 120 qualifying monthly payments under an accepted repayment plan 
  • While working full-time for an eligible employer 

Scholarship Program 

Earn a fully subsidized master’s degree and get certified in high-need subjects with our Scholarship Program
